Man receives life sentence for 2023 fatal shooting
AKRON, Ohio — A Summit County judge sentenced a man to life in prison Monday for a shooting in 2023 that claimed the life of a 33-year-old man. Thomas Ellis, 21, of Akron, will be eligible for parole after serving 21 years, Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich said. Ellis was convicted on May 7 of two counts of murder and one count of felonious assault for the shooting death of 33-year-old Dominic Gray.

IDs released of victims in fatal stabbing, shooting in Akron
AKRON, Ohio — Authorities have released the identities of a man killed in a shooting and a man killed in a stabbing over the weekend in Akron. The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office says William Harrison, 22, of Akron, died in the shooting Saturday afternoon on the 1600 block of Seth Robert Drive in the Firestone Park neighborhood. Harrison died of a gunshot wound to the chest.
