Man sentenced after pleading guilty to killing neighbor
WYTHE COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - A Max Meadows man has been sentenced after pleading guilty to the murder of a neighbor. Kenneth Sayers, 56, was sentenced Thursday in Wythe County Circuit Court to 28 years and 3 months in prison. That’s the top end of sentencing guidelines, according to Commonwealth’s Attorney Mike Jones.
Car crashes into Waffle House in Wytheville
WYTHEVILLE, Va. (WSET) — Police said the driver of a car that crashed into a Waffle House was not injured after the incident early Wednesday morning. ASHE — AppHealthCare is reporting an increase in gastrointestinal (GI) illness with symptoms that are consistent with norovirus and are encouraging everyone to take actions to prevent spread of the virus. According to the CDC, there has been an increase in norovirus nationwide and in the southern census region which includes North Carolina.
