Man dead after falling 30 feet in Salem motorcycle crash
SALEM Ore. (KPTV) - A man is dead after a motorcycle crash on the off-ramp of the Center Street Bridge, according to the Salem Police Department. Around 6:10 p.m., officers responded to the scene where 27-year-old Mark Steven Sewell of Salem was riding a motorcycle eastbound over the bridge. As Sewell took the off-ramp, officers said he lost control and crashed into the concrete barrier.

Warm and windy end to the week before rain chances increase over weekend
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Warmer and windy conditions return to western Oregon and Washington Friday as sunshine remains in abundance. Stronger and gusty easterly winds will help send Portland area temperatures into the low to mid-70s on Friday afternoon. Wind gusts could be near 30-35 mph through the afternoon and evening hours. Winds will slow after sunset as mild temperatures remain.
Recent wolverine sightings believed to be connected
Recent sightings of a wolverine along the coast and in the Willamette Valley have been described as “very unusual,” and officials with the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife are attempting to determine if all the sightings are of the same animal. Jason Kirchner, ODFW district wildlife biologist based in Newport, said, “We’ve had some (sightings) confirmed in Netarts, Nehalem, Newport, Florence and now Eugene. It’s very unusual. They typically are in the mountains.” ...
