JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – Two Illinois residents are in the hospital after a traffic crash on Interstate 10 in Jackson County on Wednesday.

The crash happened just before 11:30 a.m. at mile marker 139 just East of the Highway 71 exit in Marianna, officials said.

State troopers say a pickup truck hauling a camper, was heading West on the interstate when the 61-year-old driver from Godfrey, Illinois, overcorrected and ran off the roadway. The vehicle and camper flipped over several times and ended up overturned in the grass on the side of I-10, according to a news release.

The driver and passenger, a 69-year-old man also from Godfrey, were seriously injured. Both individuals were airlifted from the scene to a nearby hospital, authorities wrote.

    The crash remains under investigation.
