‘It’s about to get real’ – Alabama prepares for giant step toward I-10 bridge project
MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Westbound traffic slowed to a crawl across the Bayway most of the day Monday. Even the Causeway was backed up. The Labor Day traffic jam fit a familiar summer holiday pattern, where travelers hit a bottleneck at the Wallace Tunnel. Alabama officials, though, are planning to take a giant step next week toward a project they hope will make Interstate 10 traffic jams mostly a thing of the past. By the end of next week, the Alabama Department of Transportation hopes to lock down the financing needed to pay for the $3.2 billion project.

Road closures, resurfacing and Labor Day checkpoints to hit north Alabama
NORTH ALABAMA (WAFF) - Madison Utilities will close a section of Church Street between Maple and Front streets this morning. That section of road will reopen Thursday. Church Street lane closures continue through Sept. 11. Utility crews will also close one lane on Church Street from now until Sept. 11.

Portion of Montgomery’s Coliseum Boulevard closed for emergency repairs
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - A portion of Coliseum Boulevard is being closed by the Montgomery Water Works and Sanitary Sewer Board in order to perform emergency sewer line repairs, the city says.
