Woman struck by vehicle near Hibbing sustains life threatening injuries
A Chisholm woman was transferred to St. Mary’s in Duluth with “life threatening” injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Highway 169 south of Hibbing early Tuesday morning. According to a incident report from the Minnesota State Highway Patrol, a Buick Verano driven by 52-year-old Eugene Clarence Seitz of Chisholm was traveling southbound on Hwy 169, south of Chisholm when it struck 36-year-old Lauren Joy Hegdahl, who was wearing dark clothing and was walking in the southbound lane close to the fog line. The accident report has a time listed of 4:29 a.m. According to the State Patrol, it was listed under Hegdahl’s name that alcohol was involved.
Fatal Single-Vehicle Accident in Nashwauk
On Saturday, May 11, 2024, at approximately 10 a.m., the Itasca County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a fatal hit and run accident on 2nd Street near Larue Court, in the town of Nashwauk.
