The All-You-Can-Eat Oregon Diner Regulars Insist Beats Every Other Buffet In The State
Kids at one coastal buffet pay based on how many birthdays they’ve had. That old-school pricing trick still shows up on the board, and I love that it survives. The food sits on a hill with a wide-open look at the Pacific. Fried chicken, pizza, and a big salad bar share the room with soft serve and cinnamon rolls.

Pet of the Week: Apollo
EUGENE, Ore. – If you’re looking for an energetic young pup to liven up your life, then our Pet of the Week, Apollo, may be just the doggo for you!. Greenhill Humane Society staff said that this two-year-old, 76-pound mixed breed canine critter would love to find an active family that can match his level of enthusiasm. Playing fetch is a surefire way to his heart, he already knows how to ‘sit’ on command, and ideally his forever family will help him continue his training. Apollo is eligible for Greenhill’s Foster-to-Adopt program, which allows potential adopters to foster him up to two weeks to see if he’s a good match before committing to adoption. A slow introduction to cats is advised and Apollo would do best with kids who are calm and can treat him respectfully. Any canine siblings should be introduced to Apollo at the shelter, as well. His adoption fee includes his neuter, vaccinations, microchip, a certificate for a free vet exam, post-adoption support, and more.

Puppies practice essential skills to become guide dogs at the Eugene Airport
The sight of a puppy is enough to elicit excitement from many people. Seeing one working hard to fill a much-needed role seems even cuter, especially for onlookers at the Eugene Airport Oct. 24 who got to see a parade of puppies practice their skills in preparation for becoming certified guide dogs. Guide dogs have the responsibility of supporting their owners through the world safely and with confidence, but the first year of a puppy’s life is dedicated to learning things like their name and basic commands before they advance to specialized training for a client’s needs. Puppies and their volunteer raisers from the Eugene, Corvallis, West Linn and Bend areas practiced the essential skill of navigating an airport. The event allowed about 15 puppies the chance to experience the TSA screening process and the hubbub of an airport before bearing the responsibility for guiding travelers who are blind or visually impaired. Sarah Blevins, director of puppy-raising for Guide Dogs for the Blind , said guide dogs provide people a way to get somewhere safely, as guide dog users partner with their dogs to navigate streetscapes, sidewalks, public transit and more to get from point A to point B. 11 Oregon Bakeries Where You Can Take A Taste Of The State Home
The marionberry is a blackberry named after an Oregon county, and it pops up in scones, pies, danishes, and jam on this list. I love that one little berry can work like a state flag you can actually eat. That berry has plenty of company. Hazelnuts sneak into pancakes and...
