Suspect Arrested in Manteca Homicide Case
MANTECA – Authorities arrested a man in connection to a fatal shooting that took place Monday afternoon, and charged him with murder. Shortly before 1:00pm Monday officers with the Manteca Police Department responded to the 800 block of Mono Street for a report of gun fire with a person down. Arriving officers found a victim who appeared to have been struck by gunfire. Officers and medical personnel attempted to save the victim’s life, but he died at the scene.
Manteca neighborhood still rattled after deadly shooting
MANTECA, Calif. — Residents in the Mono Street neighborhood in Manteca say their lives have changed in the last 24 hours. On Tuesday, neighbors remained indoors out of fear, and the street was silent. It was a completely different scene from the day before after a man was shot and killed in broad daylight right outside their homes.
Victim Identified, Arrest Made in Modesto Homicide
MODESTO – Authorities identified a man who was killed in a Wednesday morning shooting and announced the arrest of three people connected to the homicide. Police said 37 year old Emmanuel Gomez was following three people who were burglarizing a neighbor’s vehicle. As the three individuals fled, one of them shot a firearm at Gomez who was struck, causing him to crash his vehicle into a nearby orchard on Monticello Lane.
