MANITOWOC — Fans can now celebrate their love of all things Mid-century modern at a convention in the city’s downtown this summer.
The team that brings you Evergleams on Eighth during the holiday season has organized the Mid-Mod Manitowoc Summer Convention for July 11-13 at the Inn on Maritime Bay, 101 Maritime Drive.
“Get ready for the swellest event of the summer as we celebrate not just aluminum trees, but all things vintage,” said Barb Bundy-Jost, president of Manitowoc Aluminum Kitschmas Inc., in a news release.

“From cars to cuisine, fashion to films, or whatever you love, you’re guaranteed to find something for you at this premier event,” said event coordinator Linda Kerscher in the release.
The organizers noted many folks who love mid-modern style can’t make it to Manitowoc for the Evergleams Christmas tree celebration because of snow and cold.
“Summer on the Lakeshore is absolutely beautiful, and just because our favorite aluminum tree was made for Christmas doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate them — as well as Manitowoc’s midcentury manufacturing history any time of the year,” the release said.

Public events will include a vintage market, classic cars of the era, food truck corral, aluminum tree show and more.
