Fort Stewart to celebrate the return of the 3rd ID from Poland
FORT STEWART, Ga. (WTOC) - It’s a big day at Fort Stewart as the 3rd Infantry Division is celebrating coming home from deployment in Eastern Europe. The 3rd Infantry Division was deployed for almost nine months in Eastern Europe. The goal being to train with allies of the United States and deter aggression against NATO countries.
Bill passed to rename Hinesville VA Clinic, honors four Liberty County Vietnam soldiers
LIBERTY COUNTY, Ga. (WTGS) — A bill to rename the Veterans Affairs Clinic in Hinesville after four Vietnam War Veterans was officially signed into law. The Veterans Affairs Community-Based Outpatient Clinic will be renamed the “John Gibson, Dan James, William Sapp, and Frankie Smiley VA Clinic.” The bill was introduced by Representative Buddy Carter and supported by all Georgia Congressional Delegation Members. In response to the bill passing, Carter sent WTGS this statement which in part reads quote:
Chamber's PARgaritaville-themed golf tournament a whopping success
On Friday, May 3, 2024, the Statesboro-Bulloch County Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual golf tournament at the Forest Heights Country Club. Freddie Hagan named OTC's 2024 Outstanding Alumni
Freddie Hagan, a 2020 graduate of both the Fish & Wildlife and Agribusiness programs at Ogeechee Technical College, was recently named OTC’s 2024 Outstanding Alumni winner. Hagan began his college career at Ogeechee Tech in the Agribusiness program, but when he took a Fish and Wildlife class as an elective, he decided to double major and get two degrees. The Bulloch Retired Educators Association recently presented scholarships to four exceptional young individuals who were honored for their dedication to pursuing careers in education. The scholarship recipients, recognized for their outstanding academic achievements and passion for teaching, were awarded financial assistance to support their educational journeys.
