Two men were sentenced to time in the State Penitentiary on drug charges Tuesday in Lake County Circuit Court. 23 year old Mason Shoenrock had earlier pleaded guilty to one count each of possession and ingestion of a controlled substance. Tuesday, Circuit Court Judge Patrick Pardy sentenced Shoenrock to serve 4 years in the State Penitentiary on each charge. The judge suspended all but three years of the sentence, based on several conditions. Those include that Shoenrock pay all fines and costs owed, and obey all laws.

A 43-year old man was sentenced to the state penitentiary Tuesday in Lake County Circuit Court. Eugene Collett had previously pleaded guilty to having sexual contact with a person incapable of giving consent, which is a Class 4 felony. The criminal activity occurred between November 8th and 25th of 2021, when Collett entered the bedroom of a minor while the victim was sleeping, and touched the victim.
