MADERA, Calif. ( KSEE / KGPE ) – Traffic signals at the intersection of Highway 41 with Avenue 15 and Highway 145 in Madera County will be flashing red overnight due to a construction project on Highway 41, the California Department of Transportation announced Friday.

Caltrans says the traffic lights in that area will be flashing red from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning May 5.

According to Caltrans, the following will occur:

    • Starting Sunday night May 5 until Friday morning, May 10, between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., the traffic signals at Avenue 15 and Highway 145, along Highway 41, will be flashing red.
    • One-way traffic control will be in place as well.
    • Drivers may experience short delays during these times.
    • The traffic signals will not be flashing red during the daylight hours.

According to Caltrans, this is necessary as the construction project on Highway 41 from Avenue 15 to Highway 145 continues to progress. They warn that the time frame of the flashing lights may be extended, if necessary, due to delays caused by weather or uncontrollable events that may occur.

Caltrans reminds drivers to drive carefully and allow additional time while traveling near construction zones.
