ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) - Hundreds of bids lead to thousands of dollars for Winnebago and Boone counties after a property auction in April. Region 1 Planning Council says the April 2024 Trustee Program auction set multiple records, bringing in a total of $1,037,993 for local governments and creates new futures for 170 previously neglected properties. R1 says more than 1,300 bids were placed by 280 bidders during the auction, both milestones for the trustee sale.
