61-year-old woman killed in Sumter shooting
SUMTER, S.C. (WIS) - A woman is dead following a Sunday morning shooting in Sumter. Sumter County Coroner Robbie Baker said Joan L. Mogensen, 61, died at an area hospital on Monday. She was shot at a home on 2325 North Saint Paul Church Road at Lot 179 Sunday morning, between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m.

CLARENDON COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities say two deputies were injured on Sunday afternoon following an off-duty crash near Turbeville. According to Clarendon County Sheriff Tim Baxley, the crash happened around 6 p.m. on Highway 378 east of Turbeville. Woman arrested for giving drugs to a minor in Sumter, South Carolina, deputies say
SUMTER, S.C. — A Sumter woman has been arrested and charged for giving drugs to a minor, deputies say. Sumter County Sheriff's Office received reports that Melissa Burkett-Neville had given drugs to a minor. During the investigation, witnesses stated in January, the minor called Burkett-Neville and asked her to pick them up at a business in Sumter County. Burkett-Neville picked up the minor, and brought the victim to her home, where she gave the minor marijuana, officials said.
