A trip to Frank Butler Park West required rain boots Wednesday after the King Tide flooded the parking lot and pushed water into the park. As the park flooded, St. Johns County leaders used it as an opportunity to show community members some data that says, while this may be a unique high tide right now, it may not be in a few years.

FLORIDA — Several weather changes are on the way for Florida this weekend into early next week, including strong winds, high surf, and coastal flooding. Wind gusts could reach 35 to 45 mph from Sunday into Monday, especially along the East Coast. A High Surf Advisory is in effect, with surf-zone waves of 7 to 13 feet from Sunday through Tuesday. Coastal flooding is expected to worsen as king tides combine with days of gusty northeast winds.
