Friday's Weather: Sunshine today with cooler temperatures and lower humidity
EAST TEXAS (KLTV/KTRE) - Well, it has been a busy second half of the week and thankfully we will FINALLY get a nice and comfortable day with plenty of sunshine. Rain and storms exited the area overnight along with a slow-moving cold front, leading to clearing skies this morning and cooler temperatures for many in the lower to middle 60s. Expect plenty of sunshine this afternoon with near seasonal highs in the lower to middle 80s and even some lower humidity values which will make the air feel a bit more comfortable this afternoon. We’ll see a cool start tomorrow in the upper 50s with highs for most only reaching into the upper 70s to near 80°. Our dry streak will end somewhat fast as scattered showers will be possible overnight Saturday with greater coverage expected throughout the day Sunday with a few thunderstorms possible for the second half of the day. With that being said, it would probably be a good idea to make some indoor plans to celebrate mom on this Mother’s Day (Sunday). Showers and storms will remain possible for our Monday as another cold front pushes through ETX, then we’ll trend mostly dry for Tuesday. Yet another disturbance is expected sometime Wednesday into Thursday of next week which will mean more scattered rain chances, so savor every dry day we can get for the next couple of days.
