Newman breaks two school records in Carroll win
Carroll County senior Ashlyn Newman broke two school records April 17 in the Lady Cavaliers’ 7-1 non-district road victory at Galax. Newman, who is now six goals shy of tying Adrienne Harris’s school record of 71 career goals, set new CCHS records for most goals in a game (six) and most points in a game (12) as the Lady Cavs improved to 6-1 overall. Nominations were collected through an online Google form found on the CCPS Internet Website as well as CCPS Facebook page. The Leadership Team reviewed and selected Royal, who serves as a Bus Driver for Carroll County Public Schools for the honor.
