WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A fight broke out Tuesday night, prompting heavy police presence in Winston-Salem, according to police. The Winston-Salem Police Department said that around 6:40 p.m., officers were called to the 1800 block of North Patterson Avenue about a fight with weapons. Former five-star recruit Omaha Biliew has transferred to Wake Forest after experiencing a disappointing freshman campaign at Iowa State. Biliew, a forward, confirmed his decision to On3. The 6-foot-8 Biliew was the highest-ranked high school player to ever sign with the Cyclones. His arrival was trumpeted even more because he was a native of nearby Waukee, Iowa. New cases of chronic wasting disease found in deer in Cumberland County
More than a dozen new cases of neurological disease have been detected in deer in Cumberland County since July, according to the state Wildlife Resources Commission. The commission reports that 13 new cases of chronic wasting disease have been detected in Cumberland, Surry, Stokes and Yadkin counties, bringing the total number of cases to 24 since the disease was first detected in Yadkin County in 2021.
