Loveland Basin ski area is reporting 4 inches overnight and 6 inches in the past 24 hours.

The high Colorado resort posted a note this morning saying "Let’s do it again!" referring to the seemingly endless storms Colorado has seen in the late season, some of which have fouled Summit County and Vail traffic and blown down hundreds of trees along the Front Range.

In fact, the Colorado high country is expecting more snow this week.

I'm a religious weather watcher and the Denver forecasters have all predicted additional snow. This morning's update on The Weather Channel says there's a 36 percent chance of snow today in Vail, and when I got up and walked the dog near Aspen at 6 am, there was a fresh dusting on the ground.

    Yesterday, Vail got 10 inches.

So it ain't over yet, folks.

A-Basin is still open and has a tentative closing date of June 4. But we all know the fun folks at the Basin will try and stretch it out as far as possible.

    Recent snowfall at Loveland.

All this snow is great for skiing but lousy for everything else.

Yesterday several Colorado news outlets reported closures on I-70, US 6 over Loveland Pass, and about a dozen other roads across Summit County.

Many car crashes were reported, too.

So, Loveland it is this weekend, then A-Basin after that!

    See you out there!

The adolescent wannabe journalist uses an inaccurate byline and further misinformation in the body of the story. “Loveland” is a city at 5,000 ft at the intersection of the plains and the foothills. “Loveland Basin” is 60 miles to the west and over 10,000 ft above sea level. Misinformation starts with bad writing.
