The Los Angeles Lakers may be in the market for a new head coach after a disappointing season in Hollywood. Their leader and playcaller for the last two seasons has been Darvin Ham, but with the scrutiny, he faced during the 2024 NBA Playoffs, it may be time for him to pack his bags.

Los Angeles has hinted at making a change at the position, with multiple reports explaining Ham won't be with the team next season. Ham's future is not confirmed, but there are a couple of coaches and personnel around the league that have ties with the Lakers and their future.

Two candidates in particular have been mentioned on multiple occasions. Current Los Angeles Clippers head coach Ty Lue and ESPN analyst JJ Reddick have been linked to the position as true threats to land the job, per Dave McMenamin at ESPN.

These would be tremendous upgrades from the Lakers' current situation. If L.A. could land one of those basketball gurus, they may be a major threat for another NBA title.
