It's public knowledge that Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James wants an opportunity to play alongside his eldest son Bronny in the NBA. That's why Bron's future in Los Angeles is currently being talked about.

However, according to NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski , much has changed since LeBron declared that he wants to be Bronny 's NBA teammate. During his recent conversation with LBJ's good buddy Rich Paul, playing with his son is no longer on top of King James' priority.

"The idea of them playing together is not a priority; it's not foremost, at least any longer, in LeBron James' mind," said Woj on ESPN's NBA Today .

Bronny will likely end up in the G League

LeBron Jr.'s stint at USC did not go as planned after his cardiac arrest in July 2023. After fully recovering, he played 25 games, including six starts. However, he averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 19.4 minutes of playing time per game.

Despite the underperforming year, the USC freshman announced last month that he would enter the 2024 NBA Draft. At the same time, Bronny entered the college basketball transfer portal. By doing both, the young king is keeping his options open.

"Rich Paul's goal here in the pre-draft process for Bronny James is to see if there's the right developmental system or organization, a place that can take a young player like Bronny James, who went five months without playing after his heart episode certainly limited him in his season at USC. If he does go in the draft, he very likely would spend next year in the G League," added Wojnarowski.

LeBron needs to make a decision

Meanwhile, Bron left fans hanging when he refused to talk about his future in Los Angeles during last Monday's Game 5 post-game press conference. When asked a reporter if that was the last game he played for the Purple and Gold, King James merely said, 'I'm not going to answer that' before walking off.

Bron can become a free agent this offseason as the second year of his current contract is a player option. Many believed that his decision could be affected by what happens to Bronny in next month's draft.

However, if Woj is correct, then LeBron is likely returning to the Lakers because that's the decision that makes the most sense. His family and businesses are deeply rooted in the City of Angels. Not only that, but he also stands to get a $164 million extension with the Lakers.
