Hundreds without power in Mid-Missouri as severe storms roll through Sunday morning
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ) Hundreds of people around Mid-Missouri are without power Sunday morning as severe storms make their way in. According to the Ameren outage map, 36 customers are without service near Eldon. In Jefferson City, 61 people are without service. The Village of Four Seasons area near Lake Ozark reports 354 customers without service.

Remembering the EF3 tornado that hit Jefferson City and Eldon 5 years later
It has now been five years since the 2019 EF three tornado did damage to both Miller and Cole County, affecting many cities and its path, including Eldon and Jefferson City. The storm touched down just southwest of Eldon, traveled northeast through Miller County into Cole, and strengthened into an EF2 tornado with winds up to 135 mph. Southwest of the intersection of Heritage Highway and Highway 54, the tornado strengthened into an EF3 with a max width of 1500 yards.
