Lake Of The Ozarks’ Harpers Cõv Development Coming To Life
It’s hard to believe it’s been close to two years since performance boaters Yvonne Alemán and Greg Harris took me for a ride on Missouri’s Lake of the Ozarks in Mad Props, their 37-foot DCB Performance Marine catamaran, to show me a new venture called Harpers Cõv that they were embarking upon with fellow powerboat enthusiast Adam Seraphine. To The Editor: Osage Beach Mayor Cries Foul Over Ballpark Grant
I would like to begin by saying that just two months ago I was not sure who I would be voting for on August 6th for this seat. I have worked well with Lisa Thomas on some projects and worked well with Jeff Vernetti on some projects and considered them both friends of mine. I worked with Jeff and the City of Osage Beach to reach an agreement with Ballparks National (BPN) for them to take over the Cities Ballparks and Concessions to allow both to grow together and bring in more teams & tourism to our area. I was also a board member of the Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) at this time and advocated for BPN to receive a Local Tourism Asset Development Grant. This federal fund grant was to be used to support public/private partnerships from the negative economic impact of Covid -19. I also wrote a letter in support of BPN receiving this grant as a local business owner as well as the Mayor of Osage Beach. This matching fund program is funded by the taxpayers and through the Department of the Treasury and authorized by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). I was excited and pleased when BPN was awarded a grant in the amount of approximately 2.7 million dollars, and I called Jeff right away to offer him my congratulations.
