LONG BRANCH, NJ - The City has issued a public service announcement regarding summer rental scams.

With summer rental season approaching, the Long Branch Police Department Investigations Bureau wants the public to be aware of possible scams such as properties being listed fraudulently on social media.

Remember:

· Ask questions about the property that a fictitious owner would be unable to answer.

· Drive by the property to look for Realtor and/or "For rent" signs.

· NEVER leave a deposit prior to physically viewing the property.
