London 43-year-old’s death believed to be a homicide

ESSIE, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — Kentucky State Police are investigating what troopers believe to be a homicide.

On Wednesday, Post 13 received a call requesting its assistance after a man was found inside a car stabbed to death. According to KSP, the car was outside a home on KY-406.

The man was identified as 43-year-old Rodney Bowling of London, per KSP.

The troopers’ initial investigation led them to believe that Bowling was in an altercation that turned physical on Oakly Cave Road, ultimately leading to his stabbing. Then he was driven to the residence on KY-406, where he was pronounced deceased.

Bowling was taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for an autopsy; the incident remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police.
