Aiden Hughes, son of Danny and Staci Hughes and a junior at Logan County High School, earned the highest possible American College Test -ACT- composite score of 36. On average, fewer than half of one percent of students taking the ACT earn a top score. In the U.S. high school graduating class of 2021, only 4,055 out of nearly 1.3 million graduates (around 0.313 percent) who took the ACT earned a composite score of 36.

Lady Cats selected to the 13th District All-Season team
At the conclusion of the championship game of the 13th District Softball Tournament, the selections to the 13th District All-Season Team were announced. The selections were made by the four 13th District head baseball coaches: Todd Caudill from the Franklin-Simpson Lady Cats, Gary Gettings from the Logan County Lady Cougars, Ryan Davenport from the Russellville Lady Panthers, and Casey Williams from the Todd County Central Lady Rebels. Each coach was asked to pick the top 10 players from the district that is not on the team they coach.
Lady Cougars win 13th District championship
The Lady Cougars marched into the 13th District tournament on a hot streak, winning seven out of the last eight games. They got late-season district wins with scores over Todd County (15-1) and Russellville (16-6). The Lady Cougars beat Todd County to open the district tournament 3-1. They hosted Russellville for the championship game and won 4-1 to take the title.

Cougars lose in a 7-6 walkoff to Purples
In the opening round game of the 4th Region Baseball Tournament at Bowling Green High School this past Monday night, there were three ties and only one lead change that happened in the final at bat.
