One person dead, another hospitalized in three-car collision in Lodi
One person has died and another was transported to an area hospital after a three-car collision in the intersection of Hutchins Street and Harney Lane on Wednesday afternoon. According to Lt. Josh Redding of the Lodi Police Department, the call came in at 4:37 p.m. of a three-car crash in the intersection. He confirmed that one passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident and one person was transported to a local hospital after complaining of pain.

Ashlyn Jubrey and Hannah Escalante combined to pitch a six-hit shutout in Tuesday’s 6-0 win over cross-town rival Tokay. Jubrey struck out 14 batters in 4 2/3 innings, allowing three hits and a walk, and Escalante finished the last 2 1/3 innings with three strikeouts and three hits. With the wins, Lodi kept pace atop the Tri-City Athletic League at 9-1 in league play and 16-5 overall, tied with Tracy at 9-1 and 17-2-1.
County looks to beautify major roadways
STOCKTON — Several interchanges along three of the region’s most traveled thoroughfares will be upgraded in the near future. The San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved allocating $300,000 to the Freeway Corridor Beautification Plan at its April 9 meeting.

The Lodi High baseball team started this week’s series against West with a one-hit shutout on Monday in the first game at Zupo Field since last year. The stadium, a Lodi fixture since 1924, had been closed for a rebuild this winter and spring after a fire destroyed the grandstand in 2019 and storms caused further damage in January 2023.
