Over 1 million people have been educated about animals through "Garden State Tortoise," and their sanctuary is based right here at home.

Meet Chris and Casey Leone, the husband and wife producing creative social media content all about their turtles and tortoises.

Hundreds of animals thrive at their base.

"My hope is that everything that we do from animal care to telling these stories through our social media platforms is that we just get that attention for the respect of the animals, to ultimately save them in a conservation manner," said Chris Leone.

"We don't really feel like we work a day in our lives because we get to follow our passion...it's something that will just continue driving us. And in the end, we're doing it for the animals," Leone continued.

The 3-Ingredient Biscuit Trick Older Cooks Knew Before Anyone Bought Canned Dough

Mayonnaise in biscuits sounds strange right up until you remember what mayonnaise is made from: eggs and oil, two ingredients that already belong in plenty of baked goods. Old-fashioned mayonnaise biscuits use that shortcut to turn just three basic ingredients into tender, golden biscuits without cutting cold butter into flour or worrying about complicated dough. They bake up soft inside with lightly browned tops, ready for butter, jam, honey, sausage gravy, or whatever else belongs on the breakfast table. It’s the sort of recipe that feels almost too simple until the first pan comes out of the oven. Then you understand why practical home cooks kept tricks like this around.

Grandma Didn’t Need 15 Ingredients to Make a Pot of Potato Soup Taste Good

There’s something almost suspicious about a soup this comforting coming from only five ingredients, but that’s exactly how old kitchen recipes earned their place. Grandma’s potato soup wasn’t built around specialty cheese, expensive toppings, or a cart full of groceries. It was about tender potatoes simmered until soft, a creamy broth, simple seasoning, and that warm, velvety texture that made a bowl feel like a full meal. The potatoes do most of the work, thickening the soup naturally and giving every spoonful that familiar stick-to-your-ribs comfort. It’s the kind of recipe that makes the kitchen smell like somebody has been cooking all afternoon, even though the ingredient list is shorter than most coffee orders.

Three Ingredients Shouldn’t Turn Into Fudge This Creamy, but Somehow They Do

Fudge has a reputation for candy thermometers, careful timing, and recipes that can go wrong if you look away at the wrong moment. This three-ingredient version skips most of that drama. With just a few simple ingredients and no oven required, it sets into rich, smooth squares with that dense, melt-in-your-mouth texture people expect from homemade fudge. There’s no long baking session and no complicated ingredient list hiding behind the word “easy.” Just creamy chocolate sweetness that can be sliced into little pieces once it’s chilled and firm. It’s the kind of recipe that makes you wonder why homemade candy ever needed to become an all-day kitchen project.
