The Barn Attic in Harleysville, Pennsylvania, is a 150-year-old, four-story barn that sells just about anything you can imagine. "You can find everything from that Crock-Pot lid that you busted to an Edwardian necklace," says Tina Richards. "It's a wide range."

Richards is the daughter of owner and curator Mary Lou Richards and serves as the Boutique and Entertainment Industry Sales Specialist.

The barn was originally an auction house operated by Mary Lous parents, but about 60 years ago, she transformed it into a retail business filled with collections, oddities, furniture, and countless other treasures. "Some people have referred to it as a museum," says Richards. "And I say, yes, it's a museum, but everything is the gift shop."

The barn has four floors, each with its own specialty. The first floor, the only climate-controlled space, is home to the vintage clothing collection. "My oldest pieces is from about the 1890s," says Richards. The second floor houses furniture, while the third has floor-to-ceiling display cases filled with collections, jewelry, trinkets, and more. The top floor houses smaller furniture pieces.

"There is a system. Jewelry is by color," Richard explains. "Things are by subject as well, so unicorns will be in their own subjectJohn Deere tractors, cows, leprechaun things, swans, nativity scenes." And if theres something specific youre looking for, Mary Lou knows exactly where it lives.
