Young adults with disabilities step in the ring at Joe Hand Boxing Gym
A legacy of boxing runs in the family of Joe Hand Jr.
His father was part of Joe Frazier's career, who won big against Muhammad Ali in 1971.
Now, they're ensuring the sport is passed forward for the next generation."My parents were both police officers in the city of Philadelphia, and they saw firsthand on their job what a good...youth program means to a certain community group," said Joe Hand Jr., President of Joe Hand Promotions.
"In the spirit of my parents, still try to keep their legacy alive and what they wanted to see happen with our company and in giving back to the community," he continued.
Their partnership with the Autism Cares Foundation is building confidence and strength for all those with who step into the ring.
"They opened their doors to us, their coaches give all of our participants an experience in a very safe and welcoming environment. They get to work out, they get to train, and they build confidence along the way. So we are incredibly happy they've chosen us as one of their community partners," said Kim Smith, Chief Operations Officer at Autism Cares Foundation.

The Scituate Animal Shelter of Massachusetts recently introduced him as a “playful guy” who “LOVES fetch” and “happily entertains himself with his toys,” packaging a big presence into a dog who, at eight years old, still brings energy and spark to everyday life. With summer nearing its end, the shelter says Junior Mint “is ready to be home before summer ends,” and they’re hoping the right person or family sees what makes this dog stand out.
