Cast of Disney Channel's 'Electric Bloom' sets sail on the Disney Destiny

2026-02-09

Carmen, Lubi and Ruby, the cast of Disney Channel's "Electric Bloom," are on a mission to have the most amazing vacation ever aboard Disney's newest cruise ship, the Disney Destiny.

For Ruby, getting to meet some of Disney's most iconic heroes and villains was a bucket-list item. Luckily for her, the Disney Destiny is bringing guests exactly that for the very first time at sea.

"This is the first time ever our guests are coming face-to-face with villains at sea so we wanted to create some really unique encounters," like De Vil's Lounge or Dr. Facilier's Parlor, explained Disney Cruise Line representative Jen.

As a lover of live theater, Carmen was hoping to experience some exciting entertainment onboard. She's in luck because according to Disney Cruise Line representative Michael, "the live performances here on the Disney Destiny are second to none!"

Guests can experience a special performance of Disney Hercules, only available on the Disney Destiny, complete with giant puppets, massive sets, new songs and an unbelievably talented cast.

For Lubi, getting to spend quality time with her friends while exploring the ship was something she had been looking forward to. Thankfully, with attractions like the Aquamouse and the Slide-a-Saurus Rex, the opportunities for fun onboard are unlimited!

"The Aquamouse on the Disney Destiny will feature a new show called 'Sing a Silly Song.' You'll get in a raft and you'll go on an adventure where Mickey and Minnie Mouse will encounter classic Disney villains and put a funny twist on things," said Disney Cruise Line representative Lauren.

Electric Bloom is now available on Disney Channel and Disney+.

Disney is the parent company of ABC Localish and this station.

That Yellow on Your Broccoli Isn’t Just a Color Change and Here’s Why It's Important

Broccoli is one of those vegetables I used to grab without giving it much thought. If the bunch looked mostly green and the stalks seemed fine, into the cart it went. But there’s one little detail worth checking before you buy it, and it only takes a few seconds to spot.

Four Ingredients Turn Cornmeal Into Crispy Southern Comfort

Southern hoecakes demonstrate how a few humble ingredients can create something far more memorable than their simplicity suggests. Cornmeal, liquid, egg, and hot fat come together into small cakes with crisp, golden edges and tender centers. The flavor is straightforward and deeply comforting, especially when bacon grease adds its smoky character to the pan. They resemble pancakes in shape but carry the rustic texture and savory corn flavor of skillet cornbread. Each cake develops plenty of browned surface, making those edges the part everyone searches for first. This is old-fashioned cooking built around necessity, thrift, and ingredients that were easy to keep on hand. The result remains valuable today because warm, crisp corn cakes still know how to make a bowl of beans or a plate of vegetables feel like a complete meal.

The Sweet Potatoes Granny Made Before Marshmallows Took Over Everything

Some sweet potatoes don’t need a blanket of marshmallows to earn space on the holiday table. Granny’s version is all about the potatoes themselves, cooked until tender and coated in that glossy, buttery, candied goodness that settles around the edges of the dish. Each bite lands somewhere between a side dish and dessert—soft sweet potatoes, warm sweetness, and a rich sauce that makes you understand why somebody always sneaks an extra spoonful before the platter gets passed. It’s the kind of recipe that looks completely at home beside ham, turkey, dressing, and all the other dishes families expect to see every year.

I found this cake in a church cookbook and never stopped making it

I first saw this recipe years ago in a tattered church cookbook, the kind with splattered pages and hand drawn hearts next to all the best recipes, and it's been in my rotation ever since.

I Stopped Using Canned Biscuits After Trying These Air Fryer Ones

Canned biscuits are quick, but nothing beats a fresh biscuit with a crisp outside and a light, flaky middle. These come out of the air fryer in just 10 minutes. These are classic Southern biscuits made with cold butter, buttermilk, and pantry staples. The air fryer gives them golden, crisp edges and a fluffy center, and they taste every bit as good as oven-baked.

The Cookie I’d Still Pick Over Anything From a Fancy Bakery

Peanut butter cookies never needed frosting, fillings, or a dozen trendy ingredients to earn a place on the cookie plate. Give me the old-fashioned kind with those familiar fork marks across the top, crisp golden edges, and a soft center that still has a little chew when you break one open. The peanut butter does all the work, filling the kitchen with that warm, nutty smell before the pan even leaves the oven. They’re simple in exactly the right way—the kind of cookie that brings back school lunches, after-school snacks, and the old cookie jar that somehow never stayed full for long.
