Disney thanks veteran Joe Worley with a surprise trip to Walt Disney World
For their annual holiday special, "The Wonderful World of Disney: Holiday Spectacular," Disney is not just uniting beloved artists and hosting festive performances but also giving back in a major way.
A handful of deserving families are being surprised with trips to Walt Disney World or aboard a Disney Cruise Line adventure!For Joe Worley and his family in Atlanta, Georgia, the surprise trip is nothing short of, "absolutely incredible." Worley has spent his life in dedication of service to others; first as a Navy Corpsman during the Iraq War, then as an advocate for nonprofit America's VetDogs and finally, as a devoted foster and adoptive parent alongside his wife, Angel. Worley's service dog Scottie was the one to deliver the exciting news from Disney Parks, with Mickey Mouse ears to match. "It's really cool to be there on Veteran's Week," Worley said of the upcoming trip to Walt Disney World. "It gives me an opportunity to spend some really quality time, on a really important week, with my family." Tune in to ABC for the premiere of "The Wonderful World of Disney: Holiday Spectacular" on Monday, December 1 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC and stream it next day on Disney +, Hulu and Disney YouTube.Disney is the parent company of ABC Localish and this station.
