After years of a successful welding program at Father Judge High school in Philadelphia, the program got a major upgrade. The brand new 12.5-million-dollar career pathways academy was erected this past year.

Their welding program is the only one in the whole Arch Diocese in existence. Instructor Joe Williams says these students go through this vigorous hands-on program and graduate with a certificate in welding. Along with a certificate, they are guaranteed a career in their field. The program has had a 100% success rate over the past 7 years. These students will be working in fields ranging from work on nuclear subs to bridge and machine fabrication.

These kids are graduating with high paying jobs and doing it all without any student debt.

Remember the White Candy That Seemed to Appear in Every Grandma’s Christmas Tin?

Divinity is one of those old-fashioned candies that can instantly bring back a kitchen you haven’t stood in for years. Light, fluffy, and almost cloud-like, it’s nothing like dense fudge or chewy caramel. The outside sets with a delicate finish while the center stays soft and airy, with that unmistakable melt-away sweetness that made it a holiday candy-table favorite. It looks deceptively simple, but anyone who grew up watching a grandmother, aunt, or church-supper expert make a batch probably remembers there was a little technique involved. When it turns out right, those snowy spoonfuls look beautiful piled onto a platter—and somehow taste even better after you’ve spent years wondering why people stopped making them.

The Soup I Make When a Light Little Bowl Isn’t Going to Count as Dinner

Some soups leave you looking for a sandwich ten minutes later. This creamy sausage soup isn’t interested in being one of them. Savory sausage gives the whole pot a rich, smoky backbone while a velvety broth turns it into the kind of spoon-coating comfort food that feels substantial from the first bowl. Everything comes together in one pot, letting those browned sausage bits and seasonings work their way through the creamy base instead of disappearing down the drain with another dirty pan. Serve it bubbling hot with crusty bread and you’ve got exactly what a cold, tired evening calls for: something creamy, hearty, and satisfying enough that nobody asks what else is for dinner.

This Chicken Penne Has the Sauce Weeknights Were Missing

Tender chicken, sturdy penne, Parmesan, and fresh herbs come together in a creamy sauce that turns an ordinary pasta night into serious comfort food. The penne captures sauce inside every tube while carrying even more across its ridged surface, so each forkful stays rich and flavorful. Seasoned chicken makes the dish substantial enough for dinner, and Parmesan brings savory depth that keeps the creaminess from tasting flat. Fresh herbs add color and a brighter finish, preventing the bowl from becoming overwhelmingly heavy. It is familiar enough to satisfy picky eaters but polished enough to serve when company arrives unexpectedly. Once everything is tossed together, the chicken and pasta feel like one cohesive dish rather than separate ingredients placed beside each other. This is the kind of dinner that earns silence for the first few bites.
