Shana Pistilli is on a mission to prove that everyone can make music in their lives, no matter what challenges they face.

She was inspired by her younger brother to create a space for people of all abilities to discover their musical talents.

Pistilli founded Rubato School of Music in 2022, where she provides private lessons to students and helps those with disabilities break down barriers to living musical lives.

Recently, Rubato School of Music was selected as the winner of the 2025 Build A Music School's "Music School of the Year" Award in the 0-100 students category.

Pistilli provides a great deal of credit to her own teacher, Jodi Jianniney, who helped her find her way into the educational role she has today.

This Strawberry Dessert Was Made to Steal the Whole Table

Some desserts sit politely in the corner, but a Southern strawberry punch bowl cake is designed to command the center of the table. Layers of tender cake, juicy strawberries, and cool creamy filling build against the sides of a clear bowl, showing off every color and texture before anyone takes the first serving. The berries bring freshness, the cream makes each spoonful soft and luxurious, and the cake absorbs enough of the surrounding flavor to become even better as it chills. Instead of precise slices, this dessert offers generous scoops where the layers mingle together, making every bowlful slightly different. It feels festive without becoming formal and nostalgic without looking dated. Once the serving spoon reaches the bottom and lifts all those layers at once, people understand why punch bowl cakes have remained such beloved gathering desserts.

This Three-Ingredient Chicken Tastes Like a Church Supper Classic

Some recipes earn their place in community cookbooks because they are dependable, affordable, and capable of feeding hungry people without exhausting the cook. This three-ingredient church supper chicken fits that tradition perfectly. The chicken bakes beneath a flavorful coating that helps keep the meat juicy while creating the kind of warm, comforting aroma associated with fellowship halls and Sunday dinners. There are no complicated marinades, hard-to-find seasonings, or multiple pans competing for counter space. Three ingredients go into the dish, and the oven turns them into a family-friendly meal that tastes much more involved. The finished chicken is tender, savory, and ready to share the plate with nearly any traditional side already planned.

Remember the White Candy That Seemed to Appear in Every Grandma’s Christmas Tin?

Divinity is one of those old-fashioned candies that can instantly bring back a kitchen you haven’t stood in for years. Light, fluffy, and almost cloud-like, it’s nothing like dense fudge or chewy caramel. The outside sets with a delicate finish while the center stays soft and airy, with that unmistakable melt-away sweetness that made it a holiday candy-table favorite. It looks deceptively simple, but anyone who grew up watching a grandmother, aunt, or church-supper expert make a batch probably remembers there was a little technique involved. When it turns out right, those snowy spoonfuls look beautiful piled onto a platter—and somehow taste even better after you’ve spent years wondering why people stopped making them.

A Tortilla Becomes Garlic Bread Faster Than the Oven Can Preheat

Garlic bread usually begins with a loaf, but a tortilla and an air fryer can reach the same buttery, cheesy destination much faster. The tortilla crisps into a thin golden base while garlic butter and melted cheese create the familiar flavor everyone expects. Because the bread is so thin, nearly every bite has a crunchy edge, making it closer to a garlic-bread cracker or ultra-crisp flatbread than a traditional soft slice. It is ready quickly, uses ingredients often sitting in the kitchen already, and avoids heating an entire oven for one snack. The cheese bubbles across the surface while the garlic butter reaches every corner, producing something far more exciting than the plain tortilla that entered the basket. This is convenience food in the best sense—fast, inexpensive, and satisfying enough to become a repeated solution rather than a one-time trick.

Five Minutes Is Apparently All This Fudge Needs

Homemade fudge sounds like the kind of candy that requires thermometers, precise timing, and a family secret guarded for several generations. This five-minute version refuses to cooperate with that reputation. It delivers rich chocolate flavor, a smooth texture, and the satisfying density of traditional fudge without turning the kitchen into a confectionery laboratory. The mixture comes together quickly on the stove, leaving the chilling time to handle most of the actual work. Once set, it cuts into neat little squares that look perfectly at home in a holiday candy tin or piled on a dessert tray. The chocolate is deep enough to satisfy a serious craving, while the small portions keep the richness manageable—at least until someone reaches for another piece. It is the kind of recipe that makes you wonder why fudge ever felt intimidating in the first place.

Homemade Bread Sounds Like a Project Until You Realize You Don’t Even Need a Bowl

Fresh bread has a reputation for turning the kitchen into a flour-covered science experiment, but this no-bowl method strips away a lot of that intimidation. You still get the part everyone actually wants: a soft, tender loaf with a golden crust and that unmistakable warm-bread smell drifting through the house. Slice it while it’s fresh and the inside is pillowy enough for butter to melt straight into the crumb, while the outside has just enough structure to make a satisfying sandwich or piece of toast. There’s no complicated equipment standing between you and the loaf, and skipping the mixing bowl means one less thing waiting in the sink afterward. Homemade bread suddenly feels less like a weekend hobby and more like something an ordinary kitchen can actually pull off.

The Soup I Make When a Light Little Bowl Isn’t Going to Count as Dinner

Some soups leave you looking for a sandwich ten minutes later. This creamy sausage soup isn’t interested in being one of them. Savory sausage gives the whole pot a rich, smoky backbone while a velvety broth turns it into the kind of spoon-coating comfort food that feels substantial from the first bowl. Everything comes together in one pot, letting those browned sausage bits and seasonings work their way through the creamy base instead of disappearing down the drain with another dirty pan. Serve it bubbling hot with crusty bread and you’ve got exactly what a cold, tired evening calls for: something creamy, hearty, and satisfying enough that nobody asks what else is for dinner.
