Aubrey Daniels will be dancing on the same stage where many of her idols have stepped on. She was selected to participate at the prestigious Prix de Lausanne, an international dance competition held annually in Lausanne, Switzerland.

"Being selected for Prix de Lausanne competition means so much to me because it has been a dream of mine and a goal since I was very little," Daniels said. "I've always watched this religiously, like how people watch the Olympics."

Daniels is a 10th grader at Dawson High School in Pearland ISD. When she is not doing homework, she trains 20 hours a week at Vitacca Ballet & School For Dance in Houston.

"My favorite part of dancing is being on stage, the stage is my favorite place," Daniels said.

Prix de Lausanne runs from February 2-9, 2025.

These Cheesecake Balls Are Dangerous Straight From the Fridge

Peanut butter cheesecake already sounds indulgent, but rolling it into small chocolate-covered bites makes the temptation much easier to encounter repeatedly. The centers are creamy, rich, and tangy enough to taste like cheesecake rather than ordinary candy, while peanut butter adds its unmistakable salty depth. A smooth chocolate coating forms a delicate shell around the filling, creating a satisfying snap before the soft center takes over. Because the balls are chilled, their texture remains firm enough to pick up while melting gradually as you eat them. They look polished on a dessert tray and require no plates, forks, or careful slicing. That individual format may suggest portion control, although the recipe makes no promises about what happens after someone discovers how conveniently the container fits inside the refrigerator.

Five-Minute Fudge Is the Kind of Old-School Shortcut Worth Keeping Around

Homemade fudge sounds like the sort of candy that requires a thermometer, perfect timing, and somebody’s handwritten family recipe telling you exactly when to stop stirring. This Paula Deen-inspired 5-minute version goes in the opposite direction. It’s all about getting that rich, creamy chocolate payoff without turning candy-making into an afternoon project. The mixture comes together quickly, then settles into dense, smooth squares that look right at home in an old-fashioned candy tin. Each piece is rich enough to satisfy with just a few bites—although that rarely stops anyone from cutting a second sliver. It’s the kind of recipe that makes sense when the chocolate craving hits unexpectedly or you suddenly remember you promised to bring something sweet tomorrow.
