And every year, his team does something special for children on Christmas Day.

It's a tradition that dates back over 20 years in the 14th district. It's made possible by their community relations team, the Police District Advisory Council, and the police chaplains.

These Blueberry Jars May Be the Smartest Thing in Your Refrigerator

A warm baked breakfast feels comforting, but making it in individual jars turns that comfort into something unusually practical. These blueberry breakfast jars combine juicy fruit with a soft, satisfying baked base, creating ready-made portions that look attractive and travel more easily than an entire casserole. The berries soften and release their sweetness as they bake, leaving colorful pockets throughout every jar. Because each serving cooks separately, everyone gets a fair share of the golden top and tender center rather than competing for the best corner of the pan. The clear jars show off the layers and blueberries, making a simple breakfast feel thoughtfully prepared. They are cozy enough for a slow weekend morning but organized enough to help on the weekdays when breakfast needs to be found, heated, and eaten before anyone is fully awake.

This Three-Ingredient Chicken Tastes Like a Church Supper Classic

Some recipes earn their place in community cookbooks because they are dependable, affordable, and capable of feeding hungry people without exhausting the cook. This three-ingredient church supper chicken fits that tradition perfectly. The chicken bakes beneath a flavorful coating that helps keep the meat juicy while creating the kind of warm, comforting aroma associated with fellowship halls and Sunday dinners. There are no complicated marinades, hard-to-find seasonings, or multiple pans competing for counter space. Three ingredients go into the dish, and the oven turns them into a family-friendly meal that tastes much more involved. The finished chicken is tender, savory, and ready to share the plate with nearly any traditional side already planned.

The Soup I Make When a Light Little Bowl Isn’t Going to Count as Dinner

Some soups leave you looking for a sandwich ten minutes later. This creamy sausage soup isn’t interested in being one of them. Savory sausage gives the whole pot a rich, smoky backbone while a velvety broth turns it into the kind of spoon-coating comfort food that feels substantial from the first bowl. Everything comes together in one pot, letting those browned sausage bits and seasonings work their way through the creamy base instead of disappearing down the drain with another dirty pan. Serve it bubbling hot with crusty bread and you’ve got exactly what a cold, tired evening calls for: something creamy, hearty, and satisfying enough that nobody asks what else is for dinner.

These Three-Ingredient Egg Bites Just Fixed Breakfast

Busy mornings do not usually leave room for a hot, protein-packed breakfast, but these three-ingredient egg bites are built for exactly that situation. They bake into individual portions with fluffy centers and lightly golden edges, delivering the satisfaction of eggs without requiring a skillet or last-minute cleanup. The short ingredient list keeps preparation quick and makes the recipe friendly to low-carb and keto eating plans. Their small size also solves the portioning problem that comes with a large breakfast casserole; everyone can take exactly what they need, and the rest remain ready for another morning. Despite the simplicity, the bites feel much more appealing than another cold snack grabbed on the way out. Warm one briefly, pour the coffee, and breakfast suddenly looks organized even when the rest of the day does not.

This Red Velvet Bundt Cake Is Hiding Cheesecake

Red velvet cake already makes a dramatic entrance, but a cheesecake filling hidden inside every slice gives this Bundt cake an even stronger reason to attract attention. The deep red cake remains soft and lightly cocoa flavored around a smooth, tangy center. Cream cheese frosting follows the ridges across the top, adding sweetness while making the cake look professionally decorated with very little effort. Cutting the first wedge reveals the contrast between red velvet crumb and pale cheesecake, creating the kind of moment that makes everyone lean closer to the serving plate. It combines two celebration desserts in one pan without requiring separate cake layers, complicated stacking, or perfect frosting technique.

Three Ingredients Shouldn’t Turn Into Fudge This Creamy, but Somehow They Do

Fudge has a reputation for candy thermometers, careful timing, and recipes that can go wrong if you look away at the wrong moment. This three-ingredient version skips most of that drama. With just a few simple ingredients and no oven required, it sets into rich, smooth squares with that dense, melt-in-your-mouth texture people expect from homemade fudge. There’s no long baking session and no complicated ingredient list hiding behind the word “easy.” Just creamy chocolate sweetness that can be sliced into little pieces once it’s chilled and firm. It’s the kind of recipe that makes you wonder why homemade candy ever needed to become an all-day kitchen project.
