Saving Our Daughters took over Lounge Studios in New York City for a very special live recording session, featuring a star-studded lineup of "Celebrity Godparents."

Founded in 2014, Saving Our Daughters is an organization dedicated to supporting young girls of color in overcoming barriers and empowering them to achieve their highest potential. The girls in the organization are also called "Student Cinderellas" and are paired with women of color in the entertainment industry, referred to as "Celebrity Godparents."

Led by godparent Megan Piphus, a musician and the first Black female puppeteer on "Sesame Street," this Saving Our Daughters event gave the students a chance to record live vocals for three inspiring songs off the new collaboration album, "Cinderella Sweep."

"I'm in a position to be able to mentor young girls and provide them a view, a representation, of what it looks like for a girl of color to be in the entertainment industry," says Piphus. "Hopefully them seeing someone that looks like them inspires them to look past any barriers they may have had in their mind."

The Student Cinderellas got to sing with Piphus, along with Broadway star Jasmine Forsberg and Disney Channel actors Emmy Liu Wang and Sway Bhatia; Megan's puppet, Mini, even makes an appearance!

"It makes me feel like I can do anything, and it's given me a very big leap forward," one Student Cinderella said regarding the fun-filled day.

Both Piphus and Forsberg emphasize their hope that this event will be something the girls can feel inspired and empowered by for the rest of their lives.

"When I was a little girl, I was blessed with such incredible artistic mentors in my life, and I always knew that when I grew up, I wanted to be able to pay that forward," says Forsberg. "Being on these tracks with all the little Cinderellas is just so fun and so exciting!"

Remember the White Candy That Seemed to Appear in Every Grandma’s Christmas Tin?

Divinity is one of those old-fashioned candies that can instantly bring back a kitchen you haven’t stood in for years. Light, fluffy, and almost cloud-like, it’s nothing like dense fudge or chewy caramel. The outside sets with a delicate finish while the center stays soft and airy, with that unmistakable melt-away sweetness that made it a holiday candy-table favorite. It looks deceptively simple, but anyone who grew up watching a grandmother, aunt, or church-supper expert make a batch probably remembers there was a little technique involved. When it turns out right, those snowy spoonfuls look beautiful piled onto a platter—and somehow taste even better after you’ve spent years wondering why people stopped making them.

This Macaroni Salad Knows Why It Disappears First

Macaroni salad can be forgettable when it is merely cold pasta covered in dressing, but this version earns attention with a careful balance of sweet, tangy, creamy, and crunchy. Tender macaroni provides the familiar base, while crisp vegetables interrupt the softness and bring freshness to every scoop. The dressing coats the pasta generously without flattening the other flavors, delivering the nostalgic deli-counter quality people expect while tasting far more personal than something purchased by the pound. A touch of sweetness softens the tang and makes the salad especially friendly beside smoky barbecue, salty meats, and spicy dishes. After chilling, the ingredients settle together and the dressing moves into the pasta, creating the creamy consistency that makes people take a much larger spoonful than they originally intended.

This Pineapple Dump Cake Has a Cheesecake Surprise

Pineapple dump cake already combines juicy fruit with a buttery golden topping, but adding a cheesecake-style layer makes the familiar dessert richer and much more interesting. The pineapple provides tropical sweetness and enough acidity to cut through the creamy center, while the cake topping develops crisp patches above the soft filling. Because the ingredients are layered rather than carefully mixed and shaped, every scoop reveals a slightly different balance of fruit, cream cheese, and buttery cake. Some portions carry extra golden topping, while others reach the soft cheesecake pockets underneath. The dessert looks rustic rather than overly polished, which is useful when the goal is generous flavor without spending the afternoon decorating a cake or rolling pastry.

Three Ingredients Shouldn’t Turn Into Fudge This Creamy, but Somehow They Do

Fudge has a reputation for candy thermometers, careful timing, and recipes that can go wrong if you look away at the wrong moment. This three-ingredient version skips most of that drama. With just a few simple ingredients and no oven required, it sets into rich, smooth squares with that dense, melt-in-your-mouth texture people expect from homemade fudge. There’s no long baking session and no complicated ingredient list hiding behind the word “easy.” Just creamy chocolate sweetness that can be sliced into little pieces once it’s chilled and firm. It’s the kind of recipe that makes you wonder why homemade candy ever needed to become an all-day kitchen project.
