Held in various cities across the globe, Cat Video Fest features a curated selection of the internets most entertaining cat clips, from playful kittens to majestic cats caught in amusing antics.

"When you watch a fun cat video, you tend to share it with a friend. So why not do it together. Cat Video Fest is perfect for that," said Amanda Salazar, Director of Vidiots, an iconic video rental store and repertoire theater that hosted festival screenings.

"This is like a private glimpse into the secret lives of cats," said Gwendolyn Mathers, Executive Director of Tail Town Cats, a non-profit adoption organization that helps find homes for adoption-ready cats. "It really celebrates this fun, joyous, silly side of cats."

A percentage of the proceeds from each festival screening go to local animal shelters and/or animal welfare organizations, like Tail Town Cats in Pasadena, California.

These Ritz Cracker Sandwiches Vanish Before the Party Starts

Ritz Party Sandwiches transform familiar buttery crackers into warm, savory appetizers that are exactly the right size for grabbing from a crowded table. Cheese and flavorful sandwich fillings sit between pairs of crackers, creating miniature bites with a crisp exterior and rich center. As they bake, the cheese melts, the filling warms, and the crackers become even more aromatic without losing the delicate texture that makes Ritz crackers so recognizable. Each small sandwich delivers salt, butter, cheese, and savory flavor in one or two bites, which explains why people rarely stop after taking only one. The recipe does not require elaborate pastry, specialty bread, or hours of preparation, yet the completed tray looks more thoughtful than simply opening a box of crackers. It is party food built around convenience without tasting like the cook took an obvious shortcut.

Grandma Was Right About Potatoes and Onions

Sometimes the most memorable food begins with ingredients so ordinary that their transformation feels almost unfair. Southern Fried Taters and Onions take potatoes, sliced onion, garlic, oil, salt, and pepper and turn them into a skillet full of golden edges, tender centers, and deep savory flavor. As the potatoes cook, some pieces crisp against the hot pan while others remain soft enough to soak up the sweetness released by the onions. That mix of textures is what makes a simple recipe so hard to leave alone. Every serving contains a few crunchy bites, several buttery-soft slices, and caramelized onion tucked between them. No cream sauce, specialty cheese, or expensive meat is required to make the skillet smell like a proper country breakfast or old-fashioned family supper.

This Strawberry Dessert Was Made to Steal the Whole Table

Some desserts sit politely in the corner, but a Southern strawberry punch bowl cake is designed to command the center of the table. Layers of tender cake, juicy strawberries, and cool creamy filling build against the sides of a clear bowl, showing off every color and texture before anyone takes the first serving. The berries bring freshness, the cream makes each spoonful soft and luxurious, and the cake absorbs enough of the surrounding flavor to become even better as it chills. Instead of precise slices, this dessert offers generous scoops where the layers mingle together, making every bowlful slightly different. It feels festive without becoming formal and nostalgic without looking dated. Once the serving spoon reaches the bottom and lifts all those layers at once, people understand why punch bowl cakes have remained such beloved gathering desserts.

This Pineapple Dump Cake Has a Cheesecake Surprise

Pineapple dump cake already combines juicy fruit with a buttery golden topping, but adding a cheesecake-style layer makes the familiar dessert richer and much more interesting. The pineapple provides tropical sweetness and enough acidity to cut through the creamy center, while the cake topping develops crisp patches above the soft filling. Because the ingredients are layered rather than carefully mixed and shaped, every scoop reveals a slightly different balance of fruit, cream cheese, and buttery cake. Some portions carry extra golden topping, while others reach the soft cheesecake pockets underneath. The dessert looks rustic rather than overly polished, which is useful when the goal is generous flavor without spending the afternoon decorating a cake or rolling pastry.
