Cypress teen's drive for success

2024-08-23

At 16-years-old, Donovan Blackshire is already a seasoned entrepreneur. He owns 3Point Mobile Auto Detailing .

"It's not your regular car wash. We're getting into every nook and cranny. We're not going to skipping any spots," Blackshire said.

His mom, Amber, says he's been interested in business and finances for nearly a decade.

"He overheard a conversation about profit/loss margins and asked me what it was when he was 6 or 7-years-old," Amber shared. "It's been nonstop since, this is not the first business he has setup."

Donovan grew serious about 3Point Mobile Auto Detailing when he learned his friend needed financial help.

"One day I saw one of my classmate's story that he was asking for donations to get school supplies," Blackshire said. "So I contacted my friend, I'm like, 'hey I have this auto-detailing business that I haven't really started up back up again and I want to hire some friends,"

The USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service issued the alert on October 6 after discovering that the products were illegally imported from Jamaica, which is not eligible to export meat or poultry products to the United States.

These Ritz Cracker Sandwiches Vanish Before the Party Starts

Ritz Party Sandwiches transform familiar buttery crackers into warm, savory appetizers that are exactly the right size for grabbing from a crowded table. Cheese and flavorful sandwich fillings sit between pairs of crackers, creating miniature bites with a crisp exterior and rich center. As they bake, the cheese melts, the filling warms, and the crackers become even more aromatic without losing the delicate texture that makes Ritz crackers so recognizable. Each small sandwich delivers salt, butter, cheese, and savory flavor in one or two bites, which explains why people rarely stop after taking only one. The recipe does not require elaborate pastry, specialty bread, or hours of preparation, yet the completed tray looks more thoughtful than simply opening a box of crackers. It is party food built around convenience without tasting like the cook took an obvious shortcut.

Feel a Sore Throat Coming On? Drink This Tea First

That first scratchy tickle in the back of my throat is my cue to put the kettle on. This is the warm tea I make, with thyme, ginger, lemon, and honey. 😊. I can’t promise this tea will stop a sore throat in its tracks, but a hot drink does help. In one study, a hot fruit drink gave people subjective relief from common cold symptoms, and honey has good evidence for soothing cough, which often comes with a sore throat. Thyme is a traditional herb for the throat, and ginger is warming and comforting.

The Sweet Potatoes Granny Made Before Marshmallows Took Over Everything

Some sweet potatoes don’t need a blanket of marshmallows to earn space on the holiday table. Granny’s version is all about the potatoes themselves, cooked until tender and coated in that glossy, buttery, candied goodness that settles around the edges of the dish. Each bite lands somewhere between a side dish and dessert—soft sweet potatoes, warm sweetness, and a rich sauce that makes you understand why somebody always sneaks an extra spoonful before the platter gets passed. It’s the kind of recipe that looks completely at home beside ham, turkey, dressing, and all the other dishes families expect to see every year.
