Iowa voters can cast early ballots soon: Scott County auditor discusses process
By Linda Cook,
5 hours agoEarly voting is already underway in Illinois, and Iowa voters can join in starting Wednesday.
Scott County Auditor Kerri Tompkins says starting then, voters can cast their ballots at the county auditor's office or at one of 14 satellite locations.
Some important deadlines are coming up next week. “If you would like to vote from home and you would like your ballot mailed to your home, we have to have an absentee ballot request form that has be filled out and in our office by 5 p.m Monday; otherwise, we can't mail it to your home,” said Tompkins.
There’s also a Monday deadline to register to vote, which means your name and address will appear in the voter records on Election Day, Nov. 3, when polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
For voting locations and more information, visit your county auditor’s website.

The One Crispy Apple I'm Choosing Over Honeycrisp Right Now
Learn about an apple variety that is super crisp and firm that I am getting at apple orchards over Honeycrisp this month. It took a long time from when the Crimson Crisp apple was first bred until it was available to be grown commercially. It was first developed in the 1970s by the PRI (Purdue, Rutgers, and Illnois) co-operative. It wasn't until 2006 that the apple was released for growers. That is a long time in the development process. You don't get rich quick by developing a new apple variety!
