LITTLE ROCK, Ark.- Leaders with a transgender support organization in Little Rock are speaking out after water pipes at their building were vandalized, and not for the first time.

Tien Estell, the policy coordinator for the organization Intransitive, said this isn’t the first time this has happened.

“It’s not even the second or third time it’s more like number five,” Estell said.

They say in the last five or four years it’s been nothing but chaos at the facility.

“Things begin with like our camera being stolen right after we got the place, and then it moved to our plants,” Estell said.

Now the organization is having a hard time protecting its water pipes. Estell said this is the first time they’ve been left with nothing in the ground.

“We don’t know a hundred percent for sure if this one was a targeted complete removal, but it feels like it,” Estell said.

Organizers said the money being spent on new pipes could be going back to a person or family in need.

“What is it in them that brings forth this violence in such a manner that they would not only create physical harm here but take from trans community members,” Estell questioned.

Organizers say now their focus is on updating the security systems and getting extra protection for the water pipes.
