Charges amended against Czech

Felony charges against John Adam Czech, 41, Little Falls, were amended in Morrison County District Court to include one felony count of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct. This charge was added to one felony count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct filed in October 2023.

The charges stem from an August 2023 incident. In September 2023, a juvenile victim, over 16 but under the age of 18, went to the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office to report an incident of criminal sexual conduct that occurred. The victim allegedly stated she was sexually assaulted by Czech at his residence. The incident of sexual assault occurred sometime in August 2023, according to the report.

An investigator spoke with the victim regarding the allegations. The victim allegedly stated that on the evening the incident occurred, she was staying at the residence of Czech.

According to the report, the investigator spoke with Czech’s wife. She allegedly stated she and Czech have been separated for a while and maintain different residences. Czech has been texting her stating they need to talk and he has to tell her something. She suspects he was feeling guilty about the incident and wanted to tell her what had occurred between him and the victim.

The investigator went to Czech’s residence. The investigator asked Czech if he was willing to give a statement about the allegations. Czech allegedly declined to give a statement and was placed under arrest for criminal sexual conduct, according to the report.

If convicted on the felony third-degree criminal sexual conduct charge, Czech faces up to 15 years imprisonment and/or a $30,000 fine. If convicted on the felony fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct charge, Czech faces up to 10 years imprisonment and/or a $20,000 fine.
