Regional roundup: Salina Central baseball stuns 5A, advances as 16 seed
MAIZE, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - After barely sneaking into the field with a 7-18 record, the Salina Central baseball team’s season still isn’t done. The No. 16 seed in 5A West, the Mustangs knocked off No. 1 Maize South 12-8 on Tuesday before up-ending Hutch 3-2 to claim a regional title and a trip to 5A state.
Motorcycle Crashes on Interstate Ramp
A Salina man was hurt in a single-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle at the junction of Interstate 70 and Interstate 135 Friday evening. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 51-year-old Timothy Barr was riding a 2014 Victory Jackpot motorcycle headed east on I-70 exiting onto southbound I-135. He was traveling too fast to make the curve. The bike rolled onto its side, coming to a rest against a guard rail.
