Brazilian national faces deportation after pleading guilty to escaping federal custody
WORCESTER — A Brazilian man living in Framingham pleaded guilty last Friday in U.S. District Court to charges in connection with escaping federal custody in February. Judge David Hennessey sentenced Victor Rodrigues De Moura-Pereira, 20, to five weeks in prison, which he has already served, as well as a year of supervised release. De Moura-Pereira was transferred to federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody immediately after Friday's hearing for removal proceedings.

Boston police identify man killed in Mattapan shooting
George Deeble, 42, of Dorchester died early Saturday morning. Boston police on Tuesday released the name of the man who was fatally shot over the weekend in Mattapan. Officers responded to the area of Blue Hill Avenue and Fremont Street around 4:44 a.m. on Saturday for reports of a person shot, the department said. At the scene, they found a man suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds. The man, identified by police as 42-year-old George Deeble of Dorchester, was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
