LEDYARD, Conn. (WTNH) – Ledyard law enforcement officials are asking the public’s help identifying the owner of a dog who was euthanized after being found alone last month.

Ledyard police said they are working with animal control to hopefully identify and contact the owner of the intact male Pitbull mix found in the area of 480 Shewville Road.

Police said the medium-size tan and white dog was taken in with no collar or microchip in April.

He was transported to a veterinary hospital for evaluation, but was humanely euthanized due to several major health issues.

Anyone with information on the dog’s owner is asked to contact Officer Greg McDonald at (860) 464-6400 and use the reference case number 24-265-OF.
