Miss Teen Route 66 Winner
The First Miss Teen Route 66 was selected on Friday night in Lebanon. Miss Teen Route 66 is a scholarship pageant and the contestants dress up and answer interviews. This year there were of three contestants. Ashlynn Sawyer of Elkland, Haven Hicks of Lebanon, and Angelina Hughes of Phillipsburg. Angelina took home the reward this year and was awarded 1,000 dollars in scholarships thanks to Starnes Auto Body and Glass.

Four arrested during drug raids in southeast Camden County
Law enforcement from multiple agencies target two locations in southeast Camden County known for drug activity. The Camden County Sheriff’s Office says it worked with troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol and members of the Lake Area Narcotics Enforcement Group on Thursday evening, serving two search warrants. As a result of the raids, deputies seized about 10 grams of methamphetamine, and multiple items of drug paraphernalia used in the sale, distribution, and use of meth.

Richard Lee Piercy, 58, of Lebanon, died Sunday, May 28, 2023 at his home. Richard was born June 24, 1964 in Indiana to Chester Piercy and Freda Starnes Piercy. During his younger years, he lived in Indiana and Illinois, and when he was four years old, he moved with his family to Arizona. At the age of twenty, he moved to Missouri.

Lebanon Ward 1 Councilman Ken Eldridge has resigned. At Thursday night's Council work session, Mayor Jared Carr said he had accepted Eldridge's resignation, which was said to be for personal reasons. The Waynesville-Lebanon stations of the Alpha Media broadcast group have won two awards in this year’s Missouri Broadcasters Association competition. KOZQ took the top award in the category of Partners of Education that was open to all stations in the state from small markets to large markets. The program was about kindergarten through 3rd-grade students at Partridge Elementary School on Fort Leonard Wood preparing for musicals planned for early March.

Sedalia man suffers serious injuries in alcohol-related crash in Dallas County
Five people are injured, including a Pettis County man, during an alcohol-related crash in Dallas County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Sheila Gatewood, 56, of St. Joseph, was driving on Corkery Road Saturday night about 15 miles west of Lebanon when she ran off the edge of the road, overturned, and struck a tree. Gatewood, who suffered moderate injuries, was cited for seven violations, including driving while intoxicated resulting in injuries and operating a vehicle with a person under 18 in the bed of the truck.

Bobby Gean Sullivan, 66, of Springfield died Sunday, May 28, 2023 from injuries received in an automobile accident just north of Branson, Missouri. He was born Nov. 4, 1956 in Lebanon, to James Sullivan and Geneva Cromer Sullivan. He grew up in the Stoutland area, spending his time hunting and fishing. He was a graduate of Stoutland High School.
