ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — The City of Rock Island is hosting its Spring Community Garage Sale & Vendor Fair on Saturday, April 27. Rock Island Police Department hopeful to bring in Gun Violence Intervention program
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (KWQC) - Rock Island police may soon be able to move forward with a program to curve gun violence. The Rock Island Police Department is looking to move forward with a Gun Violence Intervention program also known as GVI. They want to partner with Family Resources and a national research foundation, the Research Foundation of the City University of New York, on behalf of the National Network for Safe Communities (NNSC), at John Jay College to help run the program.
