The perimeter for KU basketball is set to have some new faces this winter when the Jayhawks take the floor to begin the 2024-25 campaign. The exact number of new faces who could take the floor for KU to begin the season is still up in the air, though, according to Bill Self. While KU does still have an open scholarship to work with, the addition of Florida transfer Riley Kugel isn't officially locked in and Self has alluded to the fact that his arrival on campus is not a sure thing.

The Mountaineers are paying new men's basketball coach Darian DeVries much less than what Bob Huggins made. Football coach Neal Brown agreed to a contract extension but is making less money in these next two seasons than he would have made during the prior agreement.

It’s a fair question: Have people experiencing homelessness moved to Denver for a free hotel room?. At least one man did. The mother of a missing man messaged me the other day to tell me she is looking for her son. She said he moved back to Denver from Florida thinking he could get a free hotel room as part of Denver Mayor Mike Johnston’s House1000 plan. Of course, those rooms all are full now. Also, most people who received the rooms were in established encampments that the mayor swept. There never were any rooms for people who might move to Denver one week to be housed the next.

Class of 2025 defensive back Amari Colon has committed to Syracuse football, he announced on social media Tuesday afternoon. Colon committed the same day he picked up an offer from the Orange. Colon is listed at 6-1, 180 pounds. He played running back and wide receiver James Monroe High School in Rochester. However, he is being recruited to Syracuse as a safety. Originally part of the 2024 recruiting class, Colon is reclassifying to 2025 and going the prep school route next season. He will attend Trinity-Pawling for his prep year and plans to enroll at Syracuse next spring.
