USC one win away from last Pac-12 baseball title, trip to NCAA Regionals
The game between the No. 4 seed USC Trojans and the top-seeded Arizona Wildcats in Scottsdale, Arizona, will determine the 2024 Pac-12 Baseball Tournament champion. While Arizona is guaranteed an at-large bid even if it loses, the Trojans must win to secure the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA regionals. Despite a strong second half of the season, USC’s slow start has left it without an at-large bid as an option. Arizona advanced to the championship game by defeating Stanford in the semifinals. Caden Aoki, a right-handed pitcher for USC, is expected to face off against Cam Wally, Arizona’s right-handed pitcher....

USC football and Dodgers World Series games do have a Friday history
USC football fans are going to have a late night on Oct. 25. The Trojans host Rutgers in a game which will start just after 8 p.m. local time in Los Angeles. One plot twist: The game follows Fox’s broadcast of Game 1 of the 2024 World Series. You might wonder if the Los Angeles Dodgers have played a World Series Friday game on the same day that USC football played a game. You would probably say this has never happened, given that USC football games aren’t usually played on Fridays in October. Without looking anything up, we thought the same thing.
USC's total humiliation of Washington makes Huskies' rise more impressive
Washington football achieved in 2023 what USC football fans have not yet tasted over the past 10 years. Washington made the College Football Playoff, won a semifinal game, and played in the national championship game. USC, in 10 years of playoff competition, has not yet participated in the event. The Trojans won the Rose Bowl in the 2016 season but were never in real playoff contention due to three early-season losses. The 2017 team won the Pac-12 championship but was similarly never a factor in the playoff chase after a midseason blowout loss to Notre Dame. The closest the Trojans came to making the playoff was in 2022, when they fell one win short in the Pac-12 Championship Game against Utah in Las Vegas.

Flowers was able to win by .08 of a second over runner-up Olivia Kirk of Simi Valley Royal and third place Nikaela Nurr from Canyon Country Canyon, who were timed at 11.54 but Kirk very narrowly nosed out Nurr for second.
NCAA Compensating Athletes

The NCAA and the nation's five biggest conferences have agreed to pay nearly $2.8 billion to settle a host of antitrust claims,a monumental decision that sets the stage for a groundbreaking revenue-sharing model that could start directing millions of dollars directly to athletes as soon as the 2025 fall semester.
