High Court rejects late police chief’s tort claims suit against Yazoo City
JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – A Mississippi city cannot be held liable for its inability to put out fires at two Yazoo City properties, so says the Mississippi Supreme Court. On Thursday, justices ruled that the city did not act in “reckless disregard of the safety and well-being of any person,” and therefore cannot be held accountable for a personal injury claim filed by the late Kenneth Hampton and Victor Young.
